Join this group of passionate and compassionate people—an organization whose mission is to support you: the healthcare professionals working in medical assistance in dying.

While we are predominantly an association of physicians and nurse practitioners, all professionals involved in assisted dying are most welcome to join CAMAP. This includes nurses, pharmacists, speech & language specialists, case coordinators, administrators, law makers, lawyers, social workers, counsellors, policy analysts and more.

We use our funds to provide educational and networking opportunities for our members and clinicians who wish to learn more about MAID and the larger community beyond. We also provide leadership in establishing the highest medical standards of practice in this care. We welcome your support and hope for your input.

• Case sharing webinars (restricted to those directly involved in MAiD)

• A significantly reduced rate for our annual national conference

Our education programs are fully accredited learning activities and are eligible for continuing education credits through the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Members are also able to participate in multiple research projects or reach out to the community to conduct your own.

Advocacy for our membership is a priority at CAMAP. In particular, ensuring adequate training and ongoing education opportunities, providing networking opportunities between members across the country, agitating for adequate and reasonable compensation and a streamlining of the bureaucratic process.

Membership Criteria

Membership in CAMAP is intended to include:

• MDs/NPs currently working in MAiD assessment, providing MAiD, or acting as consultants providing expertise for MAiD requestors. 
• MDs/NPs with an active license and are members of good standing in their respective regulatory college and with anticipated work in MAiD assessment and/or provision
• Administrators, coordinators, allied health professionals, and staff directly involved in the delivery of MAiD.  
• Researchers and educators with a focus on MAiD, affiliated with an accredited university/college/health authority, at the discretion of the Board. 
• Board members of CAMAP.
• Pharmacists dispensing for MAiD.
• Individuals who have a current professional relationship with formalized MAiD support organizations.
• Persons with significant past professional roles related to MAiD.

Note: 

Each member applicant must identify their membership category annually at initiation or at renewal. 

All membership applications are subject to review to confirm eligibility. This includes verification through a supplied reference and confirmation of involvement in MAiD practice. It is strongly preferable that this reference be an existing CAMAP member. CAMAP reserves the right to request a second reference. Access to member benefits is granted once this review process is complete. Review timelines may vary, and applicants will be notified by email once their membership has been approved.

CAMAP may permit, deny, or cancel membership to any individual at the sole discretion of the organization.
