For the Public

Eligibility

For an individual to receive MAiD, there are a number of eligibility requirements and procedural safeguards in place as defined by federal legislation.

MAiD Resources in Your Province / Territory

Federal law in Canada defines MAiD as legal and requires it to be available in every jurisdiction in this country.  The delivery of healthcare, however, is a provincial / territorial responsibility so there are differences across jurisdictions.

We encourage you to talk to your healthcare provider or our provincial, territorial or regional MAiD service.

Resources

CAMAP’s primary goal is to support the people involved in delivering this care and we encourage you to speak with your individual care providers for detailed guidance.

In addition to that support, for patients and families going through this process, we have compiled a list of resources that may be helpful.
