Canadian MAiD Curriculum: Free Access for MD and NP Clinicians Ends March 15, 2026

CMC Access FAQ

The current version of the Canadian MAiD Curriculum (CMC) is transitioning out as of March 31, 2026, marking the successful completion of an impactful chapter in its evolution. Since its launch, more than 2,000 medical doctors, nurse practitioners, residents, and nurse practitioner students have registered for the CMC — strengthening clinical confidence, deepening competency, and advancing high-quality MAiD care across Canada. This milestone reflects both the program’s value and its growing momentum as CAMAP prepares for the next phase of expansion and enhanced accessibility.

CAMAP and Health Canada continue to work closely together to shape the next phase of the Canadian MAiD Curriculum (CMC) and establish a funding model that supports its long-term sustainability and future growth.

Health Canada’s current funding ensures that the CMC remains available at no cost to medical doctors, residents, nurse practitioners, and nurse practitioner students until March 31, 2025. As we move forward, CAMAP and Health Canada are jointly exploring a sustainable, long-term approach that will allow the curriculum to evolve and expand, including increased access through a subsidized model for a broader range of interdisciplinary healthcare professionals involved in MAiD care.

This next phase represents an exciting opportunity to strengthen the CMC’s impact, improve flexibility in delivery, and ensure ongoing access for those who rely on this critical education to support compassionate, high-quality MAiD care across Canada. To support learners, faculty, and partners throughout this transition, CAMAP has developed an Access FAQ with clear information on key timelines, what to expect, and available supports.
